Merchant Navy Join Karne Ke Liye Kya Eligibility Hai? (Eligibility Criteria)

A. Officer Category (Officer banne ke liye):

Yeh high-level posts hoti hain, jaise Deck Officer (Captain, Chief Officer, 2nd Officer) ya Engine Officer (Chief Engineer, 2nd Engineer, 3rd Engineer, 4th Engineer).

  • Educational Qualification (Padhai):
    • 12th Pass (Science Stream): Aapne 12th standard (intermediate) Physics, Chemistry, aur Mathematics (PCM) subjects ke saath clear kiya ho.

B. Non-Officer Category (Rating Posts ke liye):

Yeh entry-level jobs hoti hain, jaise General Purpose (GP) Rating, Deck Rating, Engine Rating, Saloon Rating (Cook/Steward).

  • Educational Qualification:
    • 10th Pass: Minimum 10th standard pass hona chahiye, Science aur Mathematics subjects ke saath.
    • Marks: Overall 10th mein minimum 40% marks aur English mein bhi minimum 40% marks hone chahiye.
  • Age Limit: Aam taur par 17.5 se 25 saal tak.
  • Medical Fitness: Officer category jaisa hi, eyesight aur physical fitness standards honge, par thodi bohot chhoot mil sakti hai. Color blindness generally allowed nahi hota.

Merchant Navy Entrance Exams Kaun Se Hain? (Types of Entrance Exams)

India mein Merchant Navy join karne ke liye mainly 3 tarah ke entrance exams hote hain:

  1. IMU-CET (Indian Maritime University – Common Entrance Test):
    • Most Important: Yeh India ka sabse bada aur primary entrance exam hai officer-level maritime courses (jaise DNS, B.Sc Nautical Science, B.Tech Marine Engineering) mein admission ke liye. Indian Maritime University (IMU) aur usse affiliated colleges mein admission isi ke through hota hai.
    • Conducting Body: Indian Maritime University (IMU).
    • Frequency: Saal mein ek baar (aam taur par June ke aas-pas). (Latest update: IMU CET 2025 exam May 24, 2025 ko ho chuka hai). Agla IMU CET 2026 mein hoga.
    • Exam Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT) – Online exam hota hai.

    • Fayda: Agar aap company-sponsored exam clear kar lete hain, toh aapki pre-sea training ke baad us company mein placement guarantee ho jaati hai, jo ki bahut bada plus point hai. Kuch companies course ki fees bhi pay kar deti hain.
